Sherman B. and Charlotte Ingram Leavenworth’s Home in Eldred
I recently met my cousin Cynthia (who acted as tour guide as Eldred is where she grew up), when I visited Eldred, New York where my dad grew up, and Barryville, NY, and where my mom grew up. This photo is the house where my Grandma Jennie Leavenworth Austin and her first son were born. My understanding is that it is the home her grandfather Sherman B. Leavenworth built.
I have more photos of the trip which I hope to put up in the near future. And some neat stories, too.

Just wanted to leave a note to let you know how much I enjoyed the Austin/Leavenworth photos. It must have taken a lot of work to gather them all and put them together.
I’m a second cousin too; my mother Charlotte is the daughter of Christina Leavenworth. It was neat seeing ‘O-ma’ as a young woman.

When Art and I lived in Eldred, the house had a large porch on it. It looks different to me with out the porch. Don’t think I have a picture of it then.
